MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – A $1.75 million gift from a West Virginia University alumnus and his wife will empower students from Allegany County, Maryland, to further their education at WVU’s main campus in Morgantown and WVU Potomac State College in Keyser.  Jim and Marsha Blair’s gift establishes an endowed namesake scholarship that benefits graduates of Mountain Ridge High School in Frostburg, Maryland. Preference will be given to students from the Blairs’ hometowns – Midland and Lonaconing, respectively. Recipients must have a demonstrated financial need and may be enrolled in any WVU undergraduate program.

The Alumni Association held its election of new officers to the Board Jan. 23, 2021. Pam Wilkinson, left, was elected president. Larry “LC" Hamilton, second from left, was elected vice president. Andrew “Drew” Salisbury, third from left, was elected secretary. John Wilkinson, far right, was re-elected treasurer.

Because of his profound teaching and dedication to the success of his students, Professor Kenneth F. Haines touched the lives of thousands of young minds who were fortunate to have a chair in one of his classes.
